00:00:06:21 - 00:00:19:09
Seth
I'm Seth, and this is the Forever Young show. The most powerful force in this world is a woman who knows who she is, why she is here, and what she wants to accomplish.

00:00:19:11 - 00:00:26:12
Stephanie
And that's where self-care comes in. As a woman, it is my opportunity and my responsibility to take care of me.

00:00:26:14 - 00:00:28:12
Seth
Self-care for your mind.

00:00:28:14 - 00:00:30:03
Stephanie
Self-care for your body.

00:00:30:05 - 00:00:31:22
Seth
Self-care for your money.

00:00:32:00 - 00:00:40:15
Stephanie
Our mission is to serve women as they fulfill their irreplaceable roles and families, society, business, the fabric of humanity.

00:00:40:17 - 00:00:55:12
Seth
So let's get this show on the road. This has been on our docket since we put the really the foundational planning for this podcast. You know, if you got the the pre packet from Laura, this is all about self-care, right? And I.

00:00:55:12 - 00:00:56:14
Erin
Thought that's where it all began.

00:00:56:16 - 00:01:04:17
Seth
So cool. Absolutely. If we could get Erin Brockovich. And so we've been talking about you for months and months. And so thank you. Thank you for making some time.

00:01:04:21 - 00:01:22:19
Erin
Absolutely. You know, this is my agents were monitor. You know, what podcasts I do or don't do. And this has not no rhyme or reason. So usually I do podcasts, but I've been gone so much, it's really hard for me to get podcasts on my schedule. I can't keep up with myself. You want to talk about self-care?

00:01:22:21 - 00:01:24:08
Erin
I think about myself now.

00:01:24:08 - 00:01:26:09
Seth
And so yeah, it's a priority for me.

00:01:26:12 - 00:01:30:05
Seth
What's really going on with Erin Brockovich? Because, you know.

00:01:30:07 - 00:01:32:23
Seth
That's a loaded question.

00:01:33:01 - 00:01:34:10
Stephanie
Might take several podcasts.

00:01:34:11 - 00:01:40:20
Seth
Most of the show. So they're going to talk about your movie, of course, you know, which everybody wants to talk about or your new book. You have a new book out.

00:01:40:21 - 00:01:42:01
Erin
Supermans not coming.

00:01:42:01 - 00:01:43:16
Seth
Superman is not coming.

00:01:43:17 - 00:01:53:22
Erin
Mind you, it's about our national water crisis. But ultimately, in everything we do, Superman's not coming in. It's about what we know about what.

00:01:53:22 - 00:01:55:06
Seth
You.

00:01:55:08 - 00:02:13:07
Erin
Can do about it. Because I think we have this idea, and I'm seeing it more and more and more. I talk a lot about Wizard of Oz. We can get into that, but I'm seeing it more and more that whether we got comfortable or complacent or bought an illusion that somebody was going to do these things for us.

00:02:13:09 - 00:02:42:00
Erin
We're kind of in a moment where we're realizing nobody's coming. So you really have to look and turn to yourself and everything. You know, I took my keynotes. That's one of the biggest things I do is I travel internationally. Speaking is called Nothing Changes Til You Do Right. And it's amazing when you can change yourself. You know, we get so busy trying to change others that you don't look inward.

00:02:42:02 - 00:03:05:22
Erin
And oftentimes we don't do that for a whole host of reasons. And we're scared too. But I do a lot of analogies. You know, my life is this environment is this planet is our water. Everything about it is who we are as well. So I tell people, you got to be a caterpillar. And in order to morph into a butterfly, a caterpillar has to dissect itself first.

00:03:06:00 - 00:03:27:00
Erin
So in order for us to morph into that person and who we are, who we want to be, you have to turn inward and you have to look at the good, the bad, the ugly, the indifferent. And where you going to make those changes. And so, you know, oftentimes we're afraid to do that. So as a Kansas girl, I now talk a lot about we have to be the buffalo.

00:03:27:02 - 00:03:27:18
Stephanie
Yes.

00:03:27:18 - 00:03:52:13
Erin
Instinctually buffaloes turn into the storm. They never turn their back to the storm because they know the worst side of the storm. The winds will catch them. So it's time for us. You as an individual, to turn into that storm, become that caterpillar, and to morph out another way. Then thinking someone else is going to do this for you and it begins with your own self-care.

00:03:52:15 - 00:03:57:23
Seth
It's time to take off the shirt and, and develop the superhero inside you.

00:03:58:01 - 00:04:01:15
Erin
Stop looking for the hero. Be the one that you were born to be.

00:04:01:16 - 00:04:11:00
Seth
What was that comment that somebody that somebody made on on one of the, one of the publications about Aaron. She was what was she was Barbie and.

00:04:11:02 - 00:04:12:14
Stephanie
Oh, Superwoman.

00:04:12:16 - 00:04:17:03
Seth
Barbie and Wonder Woman and one package. Yeah, right. That's how they described you.

00:04:17:07 - 00:04:41:08
Erin
Well, I did, well, the Barbie, I could get in my younger days. If I have to go back to where so much of my upbringing, you know, came or where this mindset is from, it is truly from my upbringing in Kansas. My connection to the environment in my parents that raised me. And, you know, my dad was famous for just letting us get into trouble.

00:04:41:10 - 00:04:54:09
Erin
He would just monitor. He'd make sure, you know, he goes, I always make sure you don't go too far out there. Just enough to really right before you fall over the cliff. He would come around, but he just watch. Just doing that.

00:04:54:14 - 00:04:54:19
Seth
Yeah.

00:04:54:20 - 00:05:12:19
Erin
And then, you know, we come back and we need help rested and all these things. He just look at us. You go, it's really going to be interesting to see how you work this out. And I'm like, what's that supposed to mean? He goes, how are you going to work this out? And I'm like, what do you mean?

00:05:12:19 - 00:05:32:16
Erin
He goes, well, think about it. What have you done? What do you think's the way to get out of it? Why do you think you got there? And I'm like, oh no. So I mean, but very early on I kind of learned that that mindset. and if I stepped into it, you know, dad was big on accountability and you'd be accountable for it.

00:05:32:16 - 00:05:52:00
Erin
And you, you learn through those, through that process. Like I'm always the one that wanted to cheat math. He goes, listen, there, there is no shortcut. It's always the long division. You've got to do the work to solve the problem. There's never a shortcut. So that's turning it inward.

00:05:52:03 - 00:05:56:04
Stephanie
Such a foundational lesson to learn. So young to.

00:05:56:06 - 00:05:59:06
Erin
Oh, yeah, I had no other choice.

00:05:59:08 - 00:05:59:15
Seth
Yeah.

00:05:59:21 - 00:06:02:14
Seth
What are you going to do about it, Aaron?

00:06:02:16 - 00:06:04:23
Erin
Let me see how you work this out here.

00:06:05:00 - 00:06:06:05
Seth
Yeah.

00:06:06:07 - 00:06:08:20
Erin
He said you're like a cattle dog. I can see your mind working.

00:06:09:01 - 00:06:10:19
Seth
Yeah.

00:06:10:21 - 00:06:21:04
Seth
Our guest last week and author, wrote a book, a workbook on self-compassion. Right. And not namby pamby pat in yourself. She's she's very straightforward. This is not about patting yourself, but.

00:06:21:04 - 00:06:25:07
Erin
We are our own worst enemy. I get what she was saying, but really coming.

00:06:25:07 - 00:06:34:04
Seth
Self-compassion is about awareness, about recognition, about recognition, about having the right conversation with yourself that ultimately brings responsibility.

00:06:34:07 - 00:06:34:15
Stephanie
Yes.

00:06:34:15 - 00:06:59:10
Erin
So much. That's a scary place, though. Conversation with yourself. If you knew what went on in my head during the day, but I have almost a gauge where I stop and I'm like, oh, wait, wait one second, you know? So what's in my head? This is what's happening, what triggers me often. And one thing that a lot of people don't do because they haven't self reflected is that internal voice.

00:06:59:15 - 00:07:00:13
Seth

00:07:00:15 - 00:07:11:04
Erin
That guttural sense, this is how I've done my work, as is how I've lived my life. Every mother and no, no disrespect to fathers but every mother.

00:07:11:05 - 00:07:11:22
Seth
This is a women show.

00:07:11:22 - 00:07:20:20
Erin
I'm called on this planet knows when that kid is lying.

00:07:20:22 - 00:07:21:10
Seth
Yeah I can.

00:07:21:10 - 00:07:49:12
Erin
Just look at you and go, yeah, you're lying because it it's in your gut. And these are instincts. These are intuitions. And oftentimes we move away from them. Yes, but I'm telling you, listen, science has got our back on this one. Your gut is your second brain. we're learning more and more about that. So we move away from these moments, these instincts in our gut that something's wrong.

00:07:49:12 - 00:08:11:05
Erin
And when you when that hits you, that's where you stop and go. You wait a second and turn right back into this internal conversation. What's got your hackles up? And, you know, I share it like growing up in Kansas tornadoes. And I'm very connected to the environment. We're so busy. You know, we're you're worried about the future. Were beating ourselves up for the past.

00:08:11:10 - 00:08:39:07
Erin
We aren't connected in a moment. But I am telling you, in Kansas, I could wake up at 7 a.m. and tell you, oh, it's a tornado day because air pressure is changing. Barometric pressures are dropping. If you are connected and and you get this instinct, it's like animals. You get these instincts. So early in the day. I know to be on the lookout.

00:08:39:07 - 00:09:01:19
Erin
So I'm running surveillance 24 seven, you know. Where is it coming. When's it coming? But when the storm hits, you go with this instinct. You naturally know what to do to move to safety. And I don't need to call the Weather Channel to ask me if it's an F4 or an F5. Those instincts are crucial, and oftentimes we move away from them.

00:09:01:21 - 00:09:25:11
Stephanie
I feel like especially if you feel like you're going to offend somebody or something like that, then they women are really good at negating their own instincts. I was told that we're the only animal or creature. Yes, that won't run when we have, you know, those feelings. Like if there was somebody in an elevator and we felt like our gut was telling us that they're bad news, that we'd still get in the elevator.

00:09:25:13 - 00:09:29:05
Stephanie
But if it was an animal that had that feeling that they know they're out. Yeah, well.

00:09:29:05 - 00:09:50:14
Erin
I'm very tapped into my I tell you a very true story. Way, way back in the day with the biker dude. And we were in his shop and somebody came in, I'm telling you, I couldn't tell you why, but my body said, yeah, pick your bag up. Get out of here. And I pick my bag up. George, the bikers do this.

00:09:50:14 - 00:10:09:06
Erin
Where are you going? I go, no explanation. I'm out of here. And I'm even thinking to myself, what are you doing? But it was a calling. No explanation. I just went with it. So he came back out and he. The guy left. He goes, listen, I, I know that he's seem kind of weird. I'm like, no, that's not even weird.

00:10:09:08 - 00:10:22:18
Erin
Something there was die. I could feel it. Two, three, four minutes passed and where his shop was, there was like a quick set 7-Eleven at the corner. Gunshots. He went in there and robbed the store and killed the guy.

00:10:22:23 - 00:10:24:11
Stephanie
Oh my goodness.

00:10:24:13 - 00:10:35:22
Erin
I am telling you, you will know that quick. It's an energy it and we're connected that way. Don't think you're not and don't question it when it happens to you.

00:10:36:00 - 00:10:41:15
Seth
There's been times I'm running. I'm like, I'm not sure what I'm running, but I'm going to keep running.

00:10:41:17 - 00:10:56:14
Erin
it's there and it's very real. And we're taught early on, I think, not to believe that. Yes or not to listen to that, that it's kind of weird, you know, witchy things.

00:10:56:14 - 00:11:11:05
Seth
I don't know, depending on family dynamics. Yeah. Like if you have family, if you have parents who you're very intuitive stuff about that you know, and sometimes we don't understand like we're like like I don't I don't feel it. You feel it. No, I don't feel it.

00:11:11:09 - 00:11:12:15
Stephanie
I'm like, well I feel it.

00:11:12:16 - 00:11:32:22
Seth
Feels it so. But but oh yeah. Instilling that, you know, into your children to, to trust that instinct. If they know if they know that, hey, I'm a force. Like the whole affirmation thing. Like if you if you train your children and they know their value, they learn to value, right, that internal voice.

00:11:33:02 - 00:11:50:19
Erin
And, you know, we learn that in the environment. We don't learn that with the phone on social media, inside playing games. I just, you know, I love that thing I saw the other day on Instagram where we were all of our parents used to know where we were, where all the bikes were in the front yard. Yeah. You know, but it's it's true.

00:11:50:19 - 00:12:00:16
Erin
Oh, my son, who went to a school out here in Utah and it was kind of a working school, you know, he's slopping pigs. I mean, he learned.

00:12:00:16 - 00:12:02:07
Seth
A lot.

00:12:02:09 - 00:12:19:04
Erin
You know, about mama pigs. And he's like, they just knock you right off your feet. I'm like, oh, yes, they can. But he she had an interesting story because his was to feed the emus. But they would let them. You go feed them. Oh you know what. Oh you go do it.

00:12:19:04 - 00:12:20:11
Seth
So I get.

00:12:20:11 - 00:12:20:21
Erin
What did you.

00:12:20:21 - 00:12:25:13
Seth
Learn. He, he he said yes. He got in there.

00:12:25:17 - 00:12:29:15
Erin
And there was, he got in between a baby. He said I.

00:12:29:15 - 00:12:30:11
Seth
Was in the baby.

00:12:30:12 - 00:12:49:23
Erin
Running. Yes. Oh boy. He goes, I was running as fast as I could alongside the fence. And he goes, she was right at me neck and neck pecking at me. He said. So I learn when you feed the emus you better know how to jump over a fence really fast. But see, nature was teaching him these things and they would teach him, oh, you know how to saddle the horse.

00:12:50:01 - 00:13:09:20
Erin
Tell it. Get on there. Sure it I was there that day. I'm like, he has no idea what he's doing. He'll learn. You'll find out. And sure enough, he gets on there. There goes that saddle and there goes Matt. But he learned. So I think that there's it's really important and that we give children a chance through school.

00:13:09:22 - 00:13:33:22
Erin
Get them outside, get them into nature. They will learn these things. and we don't always give them that experience. You know, something I learned with my mom is oftentimes and she was a journalist and associate with a G major and a school teacher, that our educational system was becoming a standard of conformance. And so as a dyslexic, I was getting lost because I'm visual.

00:13:33:22 - 00:14:02:00
Erin
I need to see, I need to touch. That's how I learned. That's where the experiences come from, that if we could get these kids back out that way, they will find them to disconnect from your environment, to disconnect from you? Yes, very much so, yes. Yeah. I had a high school class in Chicago, and the teacher was taking them out and they came to me and through their experience, they uncovered one of the biggest atrazine contamination cases we'd ever seen.

00:14:02:05 - 00:14:20:01
Erin
Oh, wow. But the environment was telling them everything was wrong. And that's what happened to me in Hinkley. listen, principal, you back me up on principle A Budgen, and you're no way you're going to convince me. Those two headed frogs and that green water is normal. I don't care what you say about me. And I don't care how much tread, Romeo.

00:14:20:03 - 00:14:34:02
Erin
I get rooted in it, and we all do that, and mothers know it, and and men can do it as well. But, you know, I think they tend to leave it to mom because if she's mad, you're going to come in and tell her otherwise it's going to be a no, no, no, no. It's going to be a different story.

00:14:34:02 - 00:14:36:01
Seth
Everybody has it. I mean, it's it's a gift.

00:14:36:02 - 00:14:36:18
Erin
We do.

00:14:36:18 - 00:14:52:09
Seth
Is a gift. I will say that that women do they have more of it. They more in tune with it. I don't know, I don't care which of it is, but but they there's something special about that intuitive gut that women have, I think when they honor themselves more.

00:14:52:09 - 00:14:54:19
Stephanie
Naturally to women. Yeah.

00:14:54:21 - 00:15:16:16
Erin
Typically for me, my instincts were always around, but they kicked to a new level when I had a baby. Oh yeah, and I saw that. I watched my daughter learn that with helping deliver a puppies, and she wants to go back because she had a feeling that there was another puppy. And I said, could be, but don't go behind mommy.

00:15:16:16 - 00:15:17:22
Erin
And all of a sudden I hear, and they're.

00:15:18:02 - 00:15:19:11
Seth
Right where the.

00:15:19:11 - 00:15:38:01
Erin
Dog is. She came out and she goes, you were right. I'm like, yep, because that baby was there. And when Elizabeth had her first baby, I would. I was as quiet as a mouse, and all of a sudden she'd open one eye and look at me and she goes, don't even think about it. And I'm like, boom, there it is.

00:15:38:01 - 00:15:44:16
Erin
So I do think sometimes when you have your child know that it just is there.

00:15:44:18 - 00:15:46:02
Seth
Well that's preservation. Yeah.

00:15:46:06 - 00:15:47:11
Erin
That's look at the.

00:15:47:15 - 00:15:51:03
Seth
Built in tool for mothers to.

00:15:51:05 - 00:15:54:21
Erin
Do it in nature. go mess with the bears, baby. Watch what happens.

00:15:55:02 - 00:16:10:19
Seth
Or a knee or an emu. It's like a is lost of Jurassic Park. We have neighbors, you know, we live out in the country. We have some horses, some cows, some rabbits, some chick. It's neighbors with emus. Like don't don't go in there. Yeah.

00:16:10:21 - 00:16:13:11
Stephanie
Don't they actually do jump fences though.

00:16:13:13 - 00:16:13:20
Seth
Oh yeah.

00:16:13:21 - 00:16:15:14
Seth
Well he, he would learn that.

00:16:15:15 - 00:16:17:09
Erin
He got and he learned that.

00:16:17:09 - 00:16:18:06
Seth
I mean.

00:16:18:08 - 00:16:41:08
Erin
But it was amazing. And and so we think we're not a part of nature. We think we're not a part of this environment. We are as a different species. We do as you were saying. So I have this instinct and, sometimes it may come naturally where you get it, but I think some of it is you need to cultivate it.

00:16:41:10 - 00:17:04:20
Erin
You need to trust it. You need to believe it. You need to listen to it. And you may not always understand it. But if you try to even work within your own for me, if my head, my heart and my gut aren't in sync, something's wrong. So that becomes where you become your own critical thinker and you got to get in there and go, what is going on in here?

00:17:04:21 - 00:17:17:07
Erin
Yeah. and only you can figure that out, but these are the the necessary steps to cultivate that intuition. You've got it. But you just don't listen to it, or you don't believe it or you don't trust it. Yeah.

00:17:17:07 - 00:17:17:16
Stephanie
Yes.

00:17:17:16 - 00:17:21:04
Erin
You got it. And how do you connect it.

00:17:21:05 - 00:17:22:04
Seth
Amen.

00:17:22:06 - 00:17:23:13
Erin
That's part of the internal work.

00:17:23:19 - 00:17:24:08
Seth

00:17:24:10 - 00:17:32:07
Erin
Self preservation and self understanding. And you know we have to.

00:17:32:09 - 00:17:54:11
Erin
It's hard to love yourself sometimes when you've made mistakes or you're beating yourself up. And I have learned that what my dyslexia that I thought would ruin me and the way I felt about myself, and beating myself up was clearly going to, you know, ruin me that.

00:17:54:13 - 00:18:02:16
Erin
It was okay that I was imperfect. It was okay that I'm flawed. Who isn't?

00:18:02:20 - 00:18:03:09
Stephanie
Yes.

00:18:03:09 - 00:18:34:12
Erin
And it what happened and transpired for me was to learn to love those flaws, to love the bad, to love the dyslexia. Because that's who I am. And to hate it turns into self-hatred. So don't be afraid of your mistakes or your weakness is. Or things that you don't like about you. That's what you need to embrace because that is you.

00:18:34:14 - 00:18:39:19
Erin
So you love it. Love yourself. Amen. And oftentimes we'll turn away from that.

00:18:39:21 - 00:18:43:06
Seth
Absolutely. Lean in. Lean into it.

00:18:43:08 - 00:18:46:10
Erin
Right. That is not easy to do.

00:18:46:12 - 00:18:48:07
Seth
It's it's not it's not.

00:18:48:08 - 00:19:07:23
Erin
And it takes practice and it takes work. And this will go back to what we were talking about in the beginning. See when that internal work gets hard I'm out. I quit. I am happy. I am more than happy to tell anybody I. I've been in therapy for 24 years and I do a lot of work in there.

00:19:07:23 - 00:19:35:11
Erin
And it's even my therapist is like, yeah, well, Doctor Brockovich, what is going on today? And you know, you know, they kind of listen. So you're in there and they're not really responding. But you can hear yourself talk. Yeah. And all of a sudden I'm like, oh my god, my mother would do that. And you know, I can look at something, but it's I'll never move away from it because it gives me a chance to it put it out there and and listen, I still make mistakes.

00:19:35:17 - 00:19:50:21
Erin
I could still want to go back to that moment, but you have to have that conversation. And and my therapist been with me forever because once I've said it is just hanging out there and er and I'll go, oh my God. He, and just figuring that one.

00:19:50:21 - 00:19:54:18
Seth
Out and I'm like, oh no, but we'll do it again.

00:19:54:20 - 00:19:59:13
Erin
But you just keep coming back. Fall off the horse. What is this? The rule.

00:19:59:15 - 00:20:00:17
Stephanie
Okay.

00:20:00:19 - 00:20:01:08
Erin
There you go.

00:20:01:13 - 00:20:19:12
Seth
We have a little, our two youngest, eight and six. And, you know, they ride. We have a we have a roping arena, you know, in our on our property down by the barn. And that's the rule. I mean, there's some hard and fast rules in our family that they know. And we'll start it and we'll say, if you don't work, they will finish it.

00:20:19:13 - 00:20:27:04
Seth
You don't eat or you don't play, right. And if you fall off a horse, what do you do? Get back on mom. Get back on that.

00:20:27:04 - 00:20:48:10
Erin
And that's see, this is beautiful about the cycle that's coming again. As I said, as we move into all this stuff, there's so many of the old ways that we're coming back to. Yeah. What is that song from? men in Black? To understand the future, you got to go back in time, man. We can go back in time and pull those good things out.

00:20:48:10 - 00:21:17:07
Erin
You know, I learned that from my own dad about, you know, as an engineer, a respect of the environment. But that values principles, respect of your family, who you are, the environment of the air, the land, the water, the gift of health is the greatest gifts you have on this planet. And I see us going back in time and pulling these things out again.

00:21:17:12 - 00:21:31:19
Stephanie
Yeah, I've seen I saw someone that said something along the lines of, I used to think that I was born in the wrong era, but I realized that I was born in the right era to keep those things alive. Yeah. And I'm like, that's so true.

00:21:31:19 - 00:21:55:14
Erin
That is so true. it is so true. But again, this is all of our connections to this planet. And how talking about self renewal and self growth and how to find and love and be there for yourself. you've, you've got to make that connection again and again, like I said, we're so busy worrying about the future.

00:21:55:16 - 00:22:17:09
Erin
We're busy beating ourselves up for yesterday that we're missing these moments. Yeah. And, and and the connections you have to realize when your body's too stressed. I've just gone through this again with my own work and I've left some work because I'm like this, I can't possibly do this. And most of us want to say, oh I can do it.

00:22:17:09 - 00:22:32:02
Erin
And I'm normally like that too. But you reach a point where you have to self-govern it and go, okay, this is deteriorating. My mental, my emotional and my physical health. And at the end of the day, that's not worth it.

00:22:32:04 - 00:22:35:02
Seth
It's not okay. So okay. Yeah.

00:22:35:04 - 00:22:49:18
Erin
It's hard to make those decisions, but I'd rather be here healthy and I'd rather be here to see the grandchildren. And what what am I pushing myself for like that? What am I doing? That's this shadow work and stuff that we have to do.

00:22:49:20 - 00:22:50:18
Seth
Yes.

00:22:50:20 - 00:22:57:06
Seth
You too. We have a next time. Round two. We'll get into parts work and somatic healing and.

00:22:57:07 - 00:23:04:18
Stephanie
Oh, it's a lot of stuff I've been diving into and finding that it's really helping my nervous system and my mental health and.

00:23:04:20 - 00:23:25:02
Erin
Oh, very much so. And we're all a part of that. I again, this is something either we didn't want to teach. This is my Wizard of Oz story. so not the film. Even though I love, love the film because I'm from Kansas. Because I wanted to be Dorothy, but I was terrified of the flying monkeys, and, like, these things upset me.

00:23:25:05 - 00:23:26:19
Seth
I do not like this.

00:23:26:21 - 00:23:52:12
Erin
So. But I'm fascinated with the book. And while Frank Bohm wrote the series Wizard of Oz, so he wrote it at the height of the Industrial Revolution. Now, this just I really think about this a lot as a way to teach his children the power of individualism. Growing up in a world that would increasingly begin to speak for you.

00:23:52:15 - 00:24:14:04
Erin
If you look up the political allegory and there is one of the Wizard of Oz, it blows my mind. Yeah. And there's a lot of representation that take you right back to Washington, DC and the politics. Yeah. So Dorothy was, we all know, runs away and meets the the Wizard. We didn't know it then. And a tornado is coming and she needs to get home.

00:24:14:06 - 00:24:36:08
Erin
The tornado is a representation actually of disruption in Washington DC. But she gets home. We know the story. The window hits her in the head and the house lands in Oz on the munchkins. And the munchkins are representation of the citizens who are frustrated, and they think Dorothy's come there to save them. So they tell her to follow the yellow brick road to the wizard.

00:24:36:10 - 00:24:44:06
Erin
So the yellow brick road was the gold standard that was a representation of the gold standard. Follow the path of money to the wizard.

00:24:44:08 - 00:24:44:15
Seth
And.

00:24:44:20 - 00:25:08:08
Erin
They'll fix it all. So as you know, she goes on the journey. Follow the yellow brick road. So her first encounters with the Scarecrow and the Scarecrow was a representation of the American farmer who everyone at that time thought had no brain because the banks were buying up all the land. So Dorothy's your girl next door. Now she's met the Scarecrow, the American farmer, and why he's got no brain.

00:25:08:10 - 00:25:31:04
Erin
And then they meet with the Cowardly Lion. And the Cowardly Lion had no heart. Well, a Cowardly Lion is a represents of El Frank Bom's best friend, William Bryan Jennings, who was always running for populist president, known for his fiery rhetoric. But he had no courage. And so now we got a a picture of the American politician. Right.

00:25:31:06 - 00:25:55:14
Erin
And then we have the Tin Man is a representation of industry worker who would lose his heart. So this is a cast of the American people, the farmer, the politician, industrial worker, the girl next door. So they follow the yellow brick road. So as they're going, the wicked witch who represents industries like you, I don't want you here, puts them to sleep in the poppy fields.

00:25:55:16 - 00:25:58:23
Erin
I wonder if that's where we've been.

00:25:59:01 - 00:25:59:12
Seth
Asleep.

00:25:59:16 - 00:26:13:10
Erin
Asleep. And as they woke up and they found their way to the wizard and they pulled back the curtain. I think where we are now, think about what it is we as people are pulling back, and we're starting to see.

00:26:13:12 - 00:26:15:04
Seth
Where our trust has been.

00:26:15:06 - 00:26:37:16
Erin
There is no wizard been up here pulling a bunch of levers and let's like the hell you know what you're doing. But the moral of the story in The message was taught to them, see, you always had the heart. You always had the brain. You always had the courage to find your way home. We are there again. I'm fascinated that he wrote this book.

00:26:37:19 - 00:26:46:15
Erin
Pre height industrial Revolution. We lost the message and we're coming post Industrial Revolution. And we're just now.

00:26:46:15 - 00:26:47:17
Seth
Now we're trying to get.

00:26:47:17 - 00:26:48:11
Erin
It and get the.

00:26:48:11 - 00:26:49:06
Seth
Message.

00:26:49:08 - 00:26:56:02
Erin
Yes this these things go on in my head during the day just anyway

00:26:56:04 - 00:27:03:03
Seth
We want to jump into we have some some of our listeners knew that you were coming on the show with a little, a little release. And so we have some questions.

00:27:03:04 - 00:27:04:06
Erin
Oh, for sure. Away.

00:27:04:06 - 00:27:09:00
Seth
Personalize it. So, Kate, this is out to Kate in Las Vegas.

00:27:09:00 - 00:27:13:20
Erin
Hi, Kate. You actually, it's baby, and I may be your neighbor.

00:27:13:22 - 00:27:19:02
Seth
Neighbors. she has connections to the real estate industry, so she'll be able to help you out.

00:27:19:02 - 00:27:23:19
Erin
Well, so my best friend, cheetah, my best friend. Cheat as a realtor.

00:27:23:19 - 00:27:25:00
Stephanie
Okay, great.

00:27:25:02 - 00:27:27:20
Erin
But, Kate, that doesn't mean we can't have a cocktail.

00:27:27:20 - 00:27:31:06
Seth
Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. Yeah. I think you would love Kate. Actually.

00:27:31:06 - 00:27:34:04
Stephanie
She is. You guys would get along spunky.

00:27:34:06 - 00:27:40:18
Seth
How did you find the confidence to show up with so much conviction when you really didn't know what you were doing?

00:27:40:20 - 00:28:00:05
Erin
We talked about that earlier. I didn't know what I was doing, I could feel it. I could feel it. I didn't know why I was doing it. I had to go with it. It became a calling and I could not turn away from it. It was girl. It was visceral. At there would be days like, if I know what I'm doing, but I can't stop myself because I knew something was wrong.

00:28:00:07 - 00:28:01:01
Seth

00:28:01:03 - 00:28:24:09
Erin
And we feel things again. That's that moment I wouldn't turn away from when I began my work in Hinkley. Everything swirled around me. This was like the perfect storm brewing, everything that I could hear my mom saying about stick to itiveness everything my dad was taught. Teach me about the value of the land. Everything that a school teacher taught me about not getting stuck in a box was here.

00:28:24:10 - 00:28:28:15
Erin
This, this is where I was standing and going, yeah, Toto.

00:28:28:17 - 00:28:31:17
Seth
We're not in Kansas anymore.

00:28:31:19 - 00:28:55:06
Erin
And these thoughts went through my head and I could hear everyone else going, yeah, Y-you blah blah, blah. And there was just this moment I'm like, why the not me? I feel it, I don't understand it. I'm going to learn it. I'm going to make it my job, and I'm going to be here because these people are being harmed and you could feel the environment screaming for help.

00:28:55:08 - 00:28:55:20
Stephanie

00:28:55:22 - 00:29:00:13
Erin
So it came calling and oftentimes I didn't know what I was doing.

00:29:00:15 - 00:29:08:05
Stephanie
Okay. Kind of going along with that. Tonia from Utah asked, how many lives, were you able to save?

00:29:08:07 - 00:29:14:05
Erin
Oh my gosh.

00:29:14:07 - 00:29:26:14
Erin
Well, in the original case, there was 634. Most of them have passed since the film came out. And that's the reason I pause.

00:29:26:16 - 00:29:47:21
Erin
At the end of the day, they saved themselves, because they were willing to wake up. They were willing to listen. They were willing to go. Yeah. The environment has been telling me that. yeah. I'm not sure why either, but I'm going to trust this situation. Yeah. I'm sick. And so I came there to kind of raise a red flag.

00:29:47:21 - 00:30:09:05
Erin
And what, you know, I kept coming back a lot. It was a trust building process. So I guess I'm uncomfortable thinking that I saved anyone's life. I'd like to to believe that I believed in them. And in turn, they began to believe in themselves. And at the end of the day.

00:30:09:07 - 00:30:26:06
Erin
We saved each other. You know, it's hard for me when I talk about that because they were just as inspirational to me. I was this young, single mom that, you know, when I first went out there, everybody's like, you're not a doctor, you're not a lawyer, you're not a scientist. You're not this, you're not that. Why should any of us listen to you or believe in you?

00:30:26:06 - 00:30:45:12
Erin
And I was a little gobsmacked because I didn't have to be any of that to be a human. But it was also in my face, recognizing what all my weaknesses were. And I think it became as trust building process where they saw that I believed in them. But what I really saw is they believed in me. We saved each other.

00:30:45:14 - 00:30:46:05
Stephanie
That's beautiful.

00:30:46:05 - 00:30:54:11
Erin
That's why it's emotional for me. And I can't always answer that question because I don't think I did that. That's beautiful. We were there for each other. That's what we've lost. We continue to need to do that.

00:30:54:13 - 00:30:55:16
Stephanie
Definitely.

00:30:55:18 - 00:31:12:03
Erin
And so when you find that belief system in you, somebody else will be looking at you and then you build a relationship and you realize that you're actually helping each other find that person and then support it in and that belief.

00:31:12:08 - 00:31:13:20
Seth
Welcome to what we do.

00:31:13:22 - 00:31:15:09
Erin
Absolutely. I would believe so.

00:31:15:11 - 00:31:17:20
Seth
And I'm saying Empire of love. Empire.

00:31:17:20 - 00:31:18:22
Erin
That's beautiful.

00:31:19:00 - 00:31:24:05
Seth
I don't know if you've seen the movie Cabrini. No. It's about Mother Cabrini. It's just released. Oh my goodness, I.

00:31:24:05 - 00:31:30:11
Erin
Haven't seen it. You know what? I did read something about it just yesterday. Somebody said something to me about it. Just yesterday, this.

00:31:30:12 - 00:31:45:21
Seth
I talked to the Pope and basically tells the pope, listen, we need to go do. This is like, sister, I don't know where your faith begins and your ambition ends. She's like, we are here to build an empire of love. You would love.

00:31:46:03 - 00:31:50:20
Erin
You'd love to. I'm going to. I'm going to see that. Yeah, now I see. I got teary eyed. Source of that.

00:31:50:21 - 00:32:06:22
Seth
Awesome. We don't see that in all the interviews. So we, we thank you for the gift. So this is from Emmy in Texas. Emmy says how do you keep focus in your ultimate goal in life, with all the challenges and the and the distractions that you're facing?

00:32:07:00 - 00:32:31:10
Erin
be aware that they're there. You have. This is a lot about you. I can get very overwhelmed. You have to recognize it, and you have to almost give yourself permission. Stop. I'm taking tomorrow off. I'm not answering my phone. Guys, I don't care if you have yourself on the floor and cry, but you've got to take that moment to stop, or you won't be able to come back and deal with it again.

00:32:31:14 - 00:32:37:15
Erin
So again, that self recognition. And so that's. You want to read me the question again. The thing she was asking you.

00:32:37:19 - 00:32:43:17
Seth
Focus on the ultimate goal when all of the you've got the distractions and the opposition.

00:32:43:19 - 00:33:14:21
Erin
Of. All right. No I mean really that's what I tell them because we've we've already talked about this. I'm not going to let you in this border that I've, you know, this my energy field, okay. Because I've sized up the situation, I'm going to go back to, you know, friends. Joey. What how you doing? You know, so when you're out there and I'm out here doing something and you're coming up to me and creating problems, I'm like, what are you hiding?

00:33:14:21 - 00:33:37:08
Erin
Well, you. Because we just instinctually don't do that. So pay attention to your cues. You're clues, how you're feeling. Something just ruffle your feathers. Have that. You know, I think an energy it. My mom taught me this and you could say I'm silly and I doesn't matter. This is it. It's a force field. Yes, it's a force field.

00:33:37:11 - 00:34:05:12
Erin
We are energy. And you'll pick up that negative energy. So when I do and absorbing it becomes too much I have to step out. I have to step out. That's take a break. Go, go cry. Go call a friend. Go. Be quiet. Listen to the wind. Breathe some fresh air. Take a nap, cry a few months. Go I don't know.

00:34:05:12 - 00:34:06:21
Erin
Go to the gym. Hit a punching bag.

00:34:07:02 - 00:34:08:13
Stephanie
Eat some, step up.

00:34:08:15 - 00:34:32:04
Erin
Eat some chocolate. Have a vodka. Step out. Don't stay in. When you feel and realize all this is going around you and I can, on a daily basis. That's my break. But my it's my body telling me, you got to step out of this. And when you do, you have that stick to itiveness you'll come back at it again tomorrow.

00:34:32:10 - 00:34:51:08
Erin
But you can't you can't let them get you tumbled up in all of that chaos. So stop. Center yourself. Put your force field up, pay attention to what's going on, and if you're feeling overwhelmed, just step out of the chaos and reboot.

00:34:51:10 - 00:35:07:19
Seth
You have to honor the inner sanctum you do of the soul. And and if something is toxic to that, then then you. It is your. It is not just your right, it is your obligation to yourself and to everybody that you serve. Absolutely step out right to give the stop sign.

00:35:07:21 - 00:35:29:03
Erin
Absolutely. And we learned this. Oh my gosh. We're going to talk about a plane crash. But you can't help somebody else if you don't have your mask on first. So when you're in the chaos put that self mask on, breathe and reboot. You know, we're kind of like computers that way. You know, when too much data comes in at once and technology can't process that.

00:35:29:03 - 00:35:51:12
Erin
That blue dot spins when all that's coming in at you and you're spinning if you don't disconnect and reboot system down. Yeah. So recognize it I think. And that's that's a lot about ourselves. You have to recognize what your limits are. Recognize that feeling. Recognize the chaos.

00:35:51:12 - 00:36:05:14
Stephanie
We like to tell our girls. You know, sometimes if I'm going out for yoga or girls night or sound baths or whatnot, and they're like, but I don't want you to go. I want you to stay here. And I'm like, do you want mommy to be a good mommy? I need to go and do this, and I will come back better.

00:36:05:16 - 00:36:08:13
Stephanie
Yeah. And then they're like, oh, okay, I guess you can go.

00:36:08:15 - 00:36:10:01
Erin
And they'll learn that from you.

00:36:10:03 - 00:36:11:00
Stephanie
Yes.

00:36:11:02 - 00:36:34:10
Erin
It doesn't mean I'm leaving forever, you know? But, you know, when you you have to you have to know yourself. Take the cues. This is getting too chaotic. I need to step back. I'm stepping out. And that I've always told my kids. Oh, just because I'm gone. Don't you ever think I'm not.

00:36:34:10 - 00:36:38:13
Seth
Coming back as I'll be back to back? Yes.

00:36:38:13 - 00:36:39:14
Erin
I just need a break.

00:36:39:14 - 00:36:48:04
Stephanie
Definitely have to reinforce that. I'm just gone for a little while. I'll be back, I promise. I promise them when they trust that, then they're like, okay, do.

00:36:48:06 - 00:37:06:19
Erin
And it's all that trust building process and that take time that isn't overnight. And I think that's one thing that's so important when that trust gets broken, how difficult it is for that to come back. So I think it's Huber Huber important that we you have to know yourself to recognize these signs in these keys. That's where it all begins.

00:37:07:01 - 00:37:07:20
Stephanie
Yeah.

00:37:07:22 - 00:37:09:02
Erin
And more afraid to do it.

00:37:09:04 - 00:37:20:15
Stephanie
This is, from Jana in, Gilbert, Arizona. What led you to be bold and strong? You're setting an example for other women to know that they, too, can have that strength.

00:37:20:20 - 00:37:39:04
Erin
Well, I don't know that I was born that way. We were talking a little earlier about, though. We are actually born into places that we question all the time. And I think that I was born to have the accident that they believed caused all the dyslexia, trauma induced, had a terrible accident that I thought would be my downfall.

00:37:39:04 - 00:38:17:01
Erin
So it was a lot of life's lessons. It's just who I am. And I I've really come to recognize that. We've kind of been talking about it all this time. You don't always recognize that moment. It's there. it was my upbringing. I think it was my experiences, my family, again, being taught with, you know, the values and respect and principles of the value of your land and air and water is so indignant to me when any one of that is harmed or someone else is harmed, I can't even again, it's not it's not even a thought.

00:38:17:07 - 00:38:18:08
Erin
It is.

00:38:18:10 - 00:38:20:14
Seth
A lightning bolt.

00:38:20:16 - 00:38:32:05
Erin
To my being. And I must respond. And so it's recognizing, it's a recognizing that that you will find your own boldness in your own strength.

00:38:32:10 - 00:38:48:10
Seth
I appreciate you answering those questions. And I know some of these, you know, we've covered we maybe covered a piece of it here or a piece of it there, but we always believe about the power of the individual. And so you know, I'm we're grateful for your time and want to make sure that we can speak to that one woman.

00:38:48:12 - 00:38:55:01
Seth
Right. This is my question. This is what I'm needing right now. So thank you for.

00:38:55:03 - 00:39:08:14
Erin
You're very welcome. You know, I want I also believe in the power of faith. the universe.

00:39:08:16 - 00:39:32:12
Erin
It's so magnificent and it's so big and it's all bigger than all of us. But to connect to it and to realize you're a part of it, it. That's a big deal. You know, I learned that from my mom. And you got to have that faith and that belief, and it's bigger than all of us. And to to be a part of it and to protect it.

00:39:32:14 - 00:39:42:07
Erin
my Beatles song, I am you, you or me, we are all together on this huge, massive, incredible. Never understandable.

00:39:42:09 - 00:39:45:10
Seth
It's I don't know.

00:39:45:12 - 00:39:46:16
Erin
Faith.

00:39:46:18 - 00:39:55:18
Seth
Amen. So we have a good friend in Louisiana. Her name is Darlene. She's actually a practicing attorney, and a health coach. She's she's an.

00:39:55:18 - 00:39:59:00
Erin
Attorney. As an attorney, she would need to be a health coach.

00:39:59:02 - 00:40:03:14
Seth
Good for you. You got something going on there? She does.

00:40:03:15 - 00:40:19:00
Seth
She's doing some amazing work. in the legal field as a partner in law firm, actually working with, working for, a firm that that protects companies on that from, from lawsuits. So this has got this.

00:40:19:02 - 00:40:39:21
Erin
Hey, listen, I got to tell you right now, I actually have no issue with that at all companies. There is a huge window open for them to do the right thing. Historically they haven't. You know, we didn't get into the mess we're in today for for just one reason. It's just always been somebody else kicks it down to the next CEO, kick it down to the next administration.

00:40:39:22 - 00:41:04:07
Erin
So here we are. We've kicked it down the line. We got nowhere else to do except turn into that storm. Right. my father is a mechanical engineer. He ran and built the pipelines for Texaco. So I grew up by an industry man. I have relatives that work for industry. I have nothing against companies or industry. They can choose to invest in themselves.

00:41:04:09 - 00:41:25:03
Erin
Like we invest in ourselves on the up front and not kick the can down the line. And it all ends up about a profit. And you know what? The Ford Pinto theory. I think this is where this all started. A bad business model. It was cheaper to face the lawsuits and fix the problem, right? Yeah, that's not the way it's going to work anymore.

00:41:25:03 - 00:41:48:05
Erin
I am happy to work with any company, any industry. Give me your hand. You give me yours. How are you on the up front? I've watched this happen for 30 years. I've been through six administrations. Both sides are equally as bad. I mean, we got to stop the finger pointing, but there is a moment where we can change a model and these companies can come in and do the right thing on the up front.

00:41:48:11 - 00:42:08:23
Erin
You'll still make a profit, but you're going to yield a whole lot more. so kudos to her. Tell her to call me any time. But, I, I have I only get mad at companies when they knowingly cover a problem. This is the moment where you need to the bowl and turn into the storm and go.

00:42:08:23 - 00:42:20:06
Erin
You know what? We got a problem. Let people know we got a problem, and we have the means to fix that problem, because so much of the trouble we're in never had to happen in the first place.

00:42:20:08 - 00:42:21:09
Stephanie
Yep, yep.

00:42:21:11 - 00:42:29:06
Erin
So if it's a company that does it that that just challenges me even more. Tell her good for her, proud of her.

00:42:29:11 - 00:42:45:17
Seth
So Soderling says, what gave Erin the courage or what gave you the courage as a paralegal, not an attorney. Exclamation point. And a female in a male dominant dominated profession to speak out in the 90s, when environmental concerns were not as present as they are today.

00:42:45:19 - 00:43:08:16
Erin
that's a great question because, you know, Erin Brockovich was not just about the environment. There was a lot of subtext in there, inequality, inequity, gender issues. I didn't even think of it that way again. The moment I stepped out there. You'll feel it. You'll know it. I didn't I didn't stop to think about what I was wearing.

00:43:08:18 - 00:43:12:03
Erin
The stilettos might have been a little ridiculous in the soil.

00:43:12:05 - 00:43:15:09
Seth
That's that question. But, you know.

00:43:15:11 - 00:43:16:17
Erin
I could run in those things.

00:43:16:17 - 00:43:19:22
Seth
Just so you know, I was a lot younger than it.

00:43:20:00 - 00:43:43:09
Erin
Just did, because that's that's how I like to dress. And it didn't really dawn on me. And, you know, again, back to, you know, the, the relationship with them, they believed in me, I believed and they just they never said anything about the way I dressed, you know, it never it was strange, but people in the office did, so I just I didn't have a thought about it.

00:43:43:10 - 00:44:02:08
Erin
I kind of learned myself, though, on some. Listen, first of all, the short mini skirts, if you ever been to Hinkley, California, the in between Los Angeles and the high desert in Vegas is a human blow dryer. In the summer. I just prefer to be naked and run around in combat boots. But nobody would have appreciated that.

00:44:02:10 - 00:44:03:08
Seth
It's hot.

00:44:03:11 - 00:44:20:22
Erin
So the less clothes I had on, the happier I was. A lot of times I showed up and Daisy Duke cut off shorts. I didn't care, I wasn't there about what I was dressing. I was trying to keep myself cool. That's what I was comfortable with. Wasn't really a thought. I was there to find something out. I was crawling through dirt.

00:44:21:02 - 00:44:33:11
Erin
I, I didn't understand the it. I was going to find it out. I was doing documents. So if anybody was in my way again, I would go, what are you doing? What do you ask me? What am I doing? What are you.

00:44:33:11 - 00:44:34:09
Seth
Doing?

00:44:34:11 - 00:44:56:07
Erin
And I just again it I it was visceral to me because what was happening for me was to protect and defend that environment, that water and their children was to protect and defend my own children, my own environment. It was visceral and I didn't care about. Did you see the film? I mean, I drove Ed Masri crazy.

00:44:56:09 - 00:44:57:18
Seth
Yeah, we loved it.

00:44:57:18 - 00:45:06:12
Erin
But at some point, what happened for him, he goes, leave her alone. I don't know what it is, but this girl is on to something.

00:45:06:12 - 00:45:07:01
Seth
That's right.

00:45:07:02 - 00:45:07:23
Stephanie

00:45:08:01 - 00:45:08:19
Erin
Let it go.

00:45:08:19 - 00:45:10:11
Seth
And her way of doing things.

00:45:10:11 - 00:45:12:01
Erin
Absolutely.

00:45:12:03 - 00:45:22:13
Seth
Her way of doing things was yielding him better results than that. Yeah. His, his his, stuffy approach.

00:45:22:15 - 00:45:44:14
Erin
Ed and I ended up becoming the best ever. Is the best friend I've ever had in my life. He died. Hold my hand. Oh, oh. And we, you know, we we would spend endless, endless, endless thousands and thousands and thousands of hours, especially when we were doing Hinkley. I uncovered Kettleman as well, so. But he used to always play these games with me.

00:45:44:14 - 00:46:04:10
Erin
What if? And I'm like, oh, here we go. But that's how he was figuring out what was going on in my head because I wouldn't always dump, you know, suck. My dad said, you know, I don't you don't always keep all your eggs in one basket. And so I would have lots of information and numerous little baskets. So that's how he kind of played with me was he's going to get something out of me.

00:46:04:10 - 00:46:23:02
Erin
I'm like, yeah, I'm not falling for that, Ed. But, I didn't think of it. I still don't. The more I think about it, the more I probably wouldn't have done it. Because you become self-conscious. You're caught up in that chaos. What do you care what I'm wearing? I'm sorry. You're not out here in the heat, running around in stilettos, catching hazardous waste.

00:46:23:04 - 00:46:42:21
Erin
I'm trying to find something out. And you're worried about what I'm wearing, so don't get. That's. That's that wicked witch coming. You know, that thing that we want to create? Oh, no. No blinders on? Nope. I'm right here. And keep your chaos over there. Because I got to focus and let the others say whatever they have to say.

00:46:42:23 - 00:46:54:12
Erin
you know, I have found, though, when you're in something like that and that chaos is going on around you, see, that entices me even more, because why would it bother you?

00:46:54:14 - 00:46:55:20
Seth
what are you up to?

00:46:55:22 - 00:46:58:11
Erin
And now I'm like, oh, no. Yeah, yeah. I don't see.

00:46:58:11 - 00:47:04:06
Seth
You. Yeah, I see you turn the tables.

00:47:04:08 - 00:47:08:10
Seth
And you know where their focus is. Their focus isn't on the mission. Their focus is on you.

00:47:08:11 - 00:47:09:02
Erin
Why?

00:47:09:04 - 00:47:12:17
Seth
Right. Exactly. That's that's powerful. That's you turn it around.

00:47:12:17 - 00:47:13:18
Stephanie
Yes. Yeah.

00:47:13:20 - 00:47:14:20
Erin
Well, it's been fine.

00:47:14:21 - 00:47:15:20
Seth
Thank you. Erin.

00:47:15:21 - 00:47:17:22
Erin
So I'm back in August. Should we do this again?

00:47:18:01 - 00:47:19:16
Seth
Yeah. Would you can we do part two?

00:47:19:17 - 00:47:20:12
Seth
Yeah, we would love.

00:47:20:14 - 00:47:24:23
Seth
Oh, yeah. Let's get it on. Yeah. Love. Love it. Thank you. Thank you.

00:47:25:02 - 00:47:40:19
Erin
Guys are wonderful. Thank you so much. And I thank you for doing I love the message you're sending to really people and what you're doing. And self-growth and self health and self wellness and and how you know, isn't it funny how we're taught that if you do that you're selfish.

00:47:40:21 - 00:47:43:03
Stephanie
Yes. Oh yes.

00:47:43:05 - 00:47:45:08
Erin
Like nothing could be further from the truth I've been doing.

00:47:45:08 - 00:48:00:06
Stephanie
This podcast has been huge for me to realize who I am, my confidence, and what I have to offer. Yeah, it's really helped me to grow a lot. And I've even had some close friends and family. They're like, wow, you're really growing. I'm like, oh wow, that's great.

00:48:00:11 - 00:48:08:14
Seth
Absolutely high growth zone. We'll do it. Thank you for two. Yeah. And, thank you. God bless you, sister. Let's go. Superman is not coming.

00:48:08:16 - 00:48:10:05
Erin
That's right.

00:48:10:08 - 00:48:16:11
Seth
But Superwoman, Wonder Woman is here. It's you. Look in the mirror, ladies. Look in the mirror.

00:48:16:13 - 00:48:22:12
Erin
That's true. We have to the heroes within. And we're always searching for it elsewhere.

00:48:22:14 - 00:48:28:02
Stephanie
So interestingly enough, I just had, like, a really big experience doing. Have you done breathwork before?

00:48:28:04 - 00:48:28:15
Erin
Oh, yeah.

00:48:28:21 - 00:48:41:23
Stephanie
So I was doing work and, you know, doing the yelling or whatever, and I just really told myself that I was in the safe place, and I did a lot more yelling than I ever have gotten. A lot a lot of that anger out, a lot of, you know.

00:48:42:02 - 00:48:42:14
Erin
See.

00:48:42:17 - 00:49:04:04
Stephanie
Those feelings out. And then he took us on this journey and kind of narrated it, but then also asked questions. And that's when I realized, like, oh my goodness, all that I've been through, I've been through a lot in my life. And who was the one constant besides God? And Jesus was me, was me. Now, I've had great influences in my life.

00:49:04:04 - 00:49:16:23
Stephanie
Like my husband. We've grown a ton together. But to realize this, I was the constant and that where I'm at is because of me and the work that I've done has been so huge for me.

00:49:17:01 - 00:49:22:14
Erin
Oh, absolutely. And it is. And you know, we don't we get there when we're ready to get there. Right? Yup.

00:49:22:16 - 00:49:23:13
Seth
Thank you.

00:49:23:15 - 00:49:24:19
Erin
Thank you so.

00:49:24:19 - 00:49:26:06
Seth
Much. We know you've got a board meeting.

00:49:26:06 - 00:49:26:20
Erin
You're fantastic.

00:49:26:20 - 00:49:30:23
Seth
I know you're late for a board meeting, but I have a feeling I know what you're going to tell them.

00:49:31:02 - 00:49:32:03
Erin
I know.

00:49:32:05 - 00:49:42:07
Seth
What about you? What are you doing? What are you doing? Carrie? And cut! It's a wrap.

00:49:42:09 - 00:49:57:10
Stephanie
